With this work I wanted to capture the awe of a nightime city landscape full of lights and color, even through the darkness. I wanted to capture the color and excitement of night life and how your perceptions change as the evening progresses. Thats why they call it the "night life"

This painting just seemed to flow out of me from an imaginary flower arrangement in my mind. This painting is full of color and no solid black is used. The sides are painted in a way that the image "bends around the sides" .It has taken me a lot of extra time to paint the edges of the canvas to match the work. I cant tell you how many times I have got caught up focusing on the main work and then forget the sides, but now it is becoming second nature. The fact is, painting the sides black is too easy to do, however painting the edges does require much more planning and focus as keeping the edges flowing is a skill. For this reason, many people have commented that my works are of gallery quality and I have focused to creating works that are a design unique to me. Most people couldn't be bothered to paint the sides, but then again you can see that difference even in most others works when even looking at work itself. I spend a lot of time shading surfaces on this work, painting with many translucent layers to create a shimmering of color, rather then just using black on the surface-or adding black to a color to "darken the shadows". In fact, there is no black paint used at all on this work...not even mixed in the colors I use, rather I have focused on creating depth through the differences in color values. What remains when I am finished is a work that remains vibrant throughout. A true Sorsdahl original. I hope you enjoy the work!

May 30th contacted by Disney Studios SALTY PICTURES, INC for the use of one of my paintings as a background in the“Halloween town 4: WITCH U”

Our cable television film is the fourth in a series of Halloween town films that are based in a fantasy land called Halloweentown. They are about a place where Halloween is every day, ghost, goblins, warlocks, pumpkin heads, ogres, mummies, etc.are the every day people and they live in a land where they are afraid of real live humans. This story line concerns Marnie Piper, a young witch living in the USA, and her family which have reunited the two worlds.

Against her mother’s wishes Marnie attends college at Halloweentown’s Witch U where she hopes to be able to embrace her identity as a witch. College is not what she expected,though--magic is forbidden on campus, her brother Dylan is attending the school, too, and a trio of wicked sisters are making her life miserable. To make matters worse, an ancient prophecy makes Marnie the target of an evil conspiracy and could change the world and her life forever. Marnie has to marshal all her talents and allies to save the day, and in the process she comes to terms with her mother and with who she wants to be.

Pictures are all taken using a digital camera under natural lighting and are as close as possible to the original, however you will find the original painting still will look better then on here.
